How You Can Help

Youth await their turn in the batting cages

Our challenge is sizable.  Today, millions of children in the United States struggle with poverty, obesity, poor quality of education, the lack of adult role models, or the persistent presence of drugs and violence.  Help us make a difference through the Foundation's work with disadvantaged children to instill leadership qualities, a strong work ethic, sportsmanship, and healthy habits.

There are a wide variety of ways to support the Foundation's work with underprivileged children.  Please explore these links on our website to learn more:

Sponsor one of our special events and have a ball with some wonderful people!  We'd like to thank all of our sponsors for their support of our past events.  They have been incredibly successful.  Thanks to these companies and individuals, we have raised millions of dollars to support our programming for disadvantaged children!

brown_box.gifGift of Stock
Gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds, or personal property can be most advantageous to the donor.  A cash gift and a gift of in appreciated securities both generate the same charitable deduction.  But if you use publicly-traded stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares to make your gift, you will receive an additional tax benefit: the IRS allows you to make your transfer to the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation without recognizing capital gains on the appreciation.  You can make a larger donation than you could make with cash and receive a larger tax deduction.  Please call Carrie LeBow, Sr. Director of Development, at 410-823-0808 to make your gift today.

brown_box.gifPlanned Giving Options
Regardless of your age or the size of your estate, there are many vehicles which allow you to balance your own income needs, the needs of your family, and your philanthropic interests.  You can help to ensure the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation's financial future without affecting your life style.  If you are interested in this type of gift, we recommend that you meet with your tax consultant to discuss an appropriate structure or call Carrie LeBow at 410-823-0808.

brown_box.gifCharity Campaigns
