The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation is looking for key strategic corporate partners for our events and programs to reach disadvantaged communities. By participating in a year-round program, young people living in at-risk communities are provided with a positive and productive alternative to the negative pressures of juvenile gangs, crime, and other delinquent activity that often prevail within their neighborhoods.
To help achieve our mission, the Foundation works closely with local Boys & Girls Clubs, youth-serving organizations, and inner-city schools throughout the country to reach tens of thousands of young people each year through character development, instructional clinics, league development, field refurbishment, and other community outreach efforts. The goal of these efforts is to provide experiences and ingrain lessons that will help guide children through life’s challenges both on, and most importantly, off the ball field. The Foundation partners for full-time, year-round baseball and softball programs within the 30 Major League Baseball cities. Funding and equipment grants are provided to each community for local Boys & Girls Clubs to start or enhance their inner-city baseball league and incorporate the key healthy lifestyle components of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation programs.
