Attorney General Roy Cooper addresses the
mentors at a North Carolina training
North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper and the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation have worked together to bring Badges for Baseball to North Carolina. Kids in 17 communities from Hendersonville in the west to Morehead City in the east will benefit from this strategic partnership.
As a result of Attorney General Roy Cooper’s support of this program, at-risk children will benefit from over $500,000 in resources this year. In addition to learning important life lessons while playing baseball and softball, children attend an overnight summer camp in Aberdeen, Maryland.
By supporting wholesome activities for children from at-risk circumstances Attorney General Cooper and the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation are working to reduce truancy and substance abuse and build positive relationships between law enforcement professionals and children across the state.
