Paul Nolan

Paul Nolan is Vice President Tax with McCormick & Company, Inc. During his tenure at McCormick, Paul has restructured the tax function to align with McCormick’s global strategic goals and represents McCormick’s tax interests at the federal and state level. Paul was a member of the inaugural McCormick Global Multiple Management Board that was formed in 2010.

Prior to joining the McCormick team, Paul was Tax Vice President-Global Tax Operations at AT&T Corp until its acquisition by SBC in late 2005. 

Paul holds a J. D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A. from Amherst College. He is a member of the New York State and District of Columbia Bar Associations. Paul began his career in the Washington office of Davis Polk & Wardwell as an associate. In 1994, Paul joined AT&T Corp. where he held several positions of increasing responsibility in tax planning as well as mergers & acquisitions before joining Host Marriott Corporation in 1998 as Vice President Tax and Tax Counsel. In 1999, Paul joined Concert Communications, a joint venture owned by AT&T and British Telecommunications, plc., as Vice President Tax, Mergers & Acquisitions Finance, and Decision Support. After the unwind of Concert, he returned to AT&T where he remained until joining McCormick in 2006. 

During his time in the Telecommunications industry, he was a frequent presenter at conferences on international tax issues, including conferences held by Ernst & Young, KPMG, PwC and TeleStrategies. At McCormick, Paul is an active in the Manufacturer’s Alliance for Productivity and Innovation, the National Foreign Trade Council and Ernst & Young Tax Executive Study Group. He is currently serving on the Planning Committee for the Tax Council Policy Institute. 

Paul was Treasurer and served on the Board of the Catholic Coalition for Special Education from 2007-2010. Paul has chaired the Finance Council from 2004-2007 and served as a member of the Parish Council at Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Potomac, MD.
