Introducing our 2015 Summer Program Interns

Jul 22, 2015

Editor’s Note: Time flies when you’re having fun! Now it’s more than halfway through July, and I realized we had not introduced the wonderful students joining the program team as interns this summer!  One of them even has a surprising connection to our programming!  Here’s a little bit about each of them in their own words.

My name is Jenna Mosketti, and I am from Fallston, Maryland. I am going into my senior year at Penn State University and this summer, I am one of the programming interns for the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation. I am a member of the Penn State Women’s Lacrosse Team, and I am majoring in Communications Arts and Sciences. During my internship, I am hoping to learn more about the Foundation, as well as having the opportunity to work with underprivileged youth.

My Name is Kayne Boyer. I am a programming intern here at the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation.  I am originally from Charleston, South Carolina, but since my father is in the US Coast Guard, I have moved around quite a bit—mainly when I was really young. Fortunately, my father was stationed in the same area for a while, so I grew up mainly in Gloucester, Virginia.  When the fall comes back around, I will be going back Liberty University. I am going into my senior year at Liberty, where I am studying to earn a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management. At Liberty, I am on the paintball team, which is a club sport. We are a part of the National Collegiate Paintball Association (NCPA). We compete throughout the year in multiple tournaments against other colleges in the Mid-South Coastal Conference (MSCC), such as Clemson, Maryland, ECU, NC State, and Virginia Tech. Then the national tournament at the end of the year consists of school all around the United States. It is a weird thing to say that when I was kid, I went to clinics held by the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, and now I am interning with the organization. This internship has and will continue to be a great experience.

My name is Sarah Kasun and I am from Bel Air, Maryland. I attend the University of Denver and am a summer programming intern for the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation. I play lacrosse at Denver and am going into my senior year. I am a marketing major with a minor in finance.  At my summer internship with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, I hope to have a better understanding of program and event coordinating in a business, while also gaining the experience of being able to work with a great cause and help kids around the world.
