On Friday, May 3, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation will hold our annual Ripken Softball Classic at Cal Sr.’s Yard and Ripken Academy in Aberdeen, MD. This fun-filled day supports the work we do to help at-risk youth across the country. Each team will play at least three games joined by a celebrity manager with the top two teams competing for the championship at Cal, Sr.’s Yard. Throughout the day, players will enjoy lunch, cocktails, and ballpark snacks. All event proceeds go to further the mission of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and our work with at-risk youth across the country.
The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, working throughout the country with community-based youth organizations to serve at-risk young people and build Youth Developments Parks in America's most distressed communities. Founded in 2001, the Foundation is led by former Major League Baseball players, Cal Ripken, Jr. and Bill Ripken, and was named in memory of their father, Cal, Sr. The life lessons of leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal responsibility, and a strong work ethic are keys to success for all young people, especially those living in disadvantaged circumstances.
