Every fall, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation holds its annual College Season Tip-Off event. Cal Ripken, Jr. joins some of the greatest coaches in basketball history for a panel discussion on all things college basketball. Moderated by ESPN Analyst Jay Bilas, an array of esteemed guests bring excitement to this already charged topic. Attendees also enjoy a delicious lunch before the special panel takes the stage.
This year, the all-star Coaches panel included: University of Maryland Head Coach, Mark Turgeon; former University of Maryland Head Coach, Gary Williams; Villanova University Head Coach, Jay Wright; and Michigan State University Head Coach, Tom Izzo. The event took place on Monday, October 25 and all proceeds from the event went directly to benefit the work of the Foundation and the children we impact.
The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, working throughout the country with community-based youth organizations to serve at-risk young people and build Youth Developments Parks in America's most distressed communities. Founded in 2001, the Foundation is led by former Major League Baseball players, Cal Ripken, Jr. and Bill Ripken, and was named in memory of their father, Cal, Sr. The life lessons of leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal responsibility, and a strong work ethic are keys to success for all young people, especially those living in disadvantaged circumstances.
The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation is grateful for all our 2019 sponsors and friends for their dedicated support.
