The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation will host its 2023 annual Aspire Gala on March 25, 2023 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. The event honors leaders from the fields of sports, entertainment, and business and continued the tradition of honoring those who are truly making a difference in the lives of others.
This year, we will honor Billie Jean King as a tennis champion and social activist who has lived her life according to the principles of equality, empowerment, and access as well as her dedication to helping others and for being a coach in life to so many both on and off the court. All proceeds from the event will go directly to benefit the work of the Foundation and the 1.3 million children we impact each year.
The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation helps to strengthen America’s most underserved and distressed communities by supporting and advocating for children, building Youth Development Parks, partnering with law enforcement and youth service agencies, and addressing community needs through its national program initiatives. Founded in 2001, the Foundation is led by former Major League Baseball players, Cal Ripken, Jr. and Bill Ripken, and was named in memory of their father, Cal, Sr. The life lessons of leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal responsibility, and a strong work ethic are keys to success for all young people, especially those living in disadvantaged circumstances.
