The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and UnitedHealthcare’s “Do Good. Live Well.” employee volunteer initiative continued the fourth annual Team8 Tour with a stop on Sept. 25 at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond – Petersburg Club. The stop helped support the club in its effort to be a safe haven for local children and a resource for the community. UnitedHealthcare volunteers revitalized the club’s park and athletic fields, made improvements to a classroom inside the club, as well as built a new outdoor art space.
After the basketball court was resealed, UnitedHealthcare volunteers alongside youth from the Boys & Girls Club painted new lines on the basketball court, as well as repainted the backboards. Volunteers also landscaped around the club’s campus and worked alongside club youth to create a new outdoor art space with the help of a local artist. Following the renovations, volunteers were served a nutritious meal. Special thank you to UnitedHealthcare, for sponsoring another successful community enhancement event!
