Ripken Foundation Celebrates 400 Completed STEM Centers on National STEM Day
Today is a historic day for the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation’s national STEM Center initiative. On November 8, 2023, National STEM Day, we celebrate the completion of our 400 STEM Center at the Tupelo City-Haven Acres Boys & Girls Club in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Over the last seven years, we has successfully installed 400 STEM Centers in 23 states, impacting over 132,000 youth with the help of over 3,000 teachers/mentors. We partner with elementary and middle schools as well as community-based youth-serving organizations across the country who currently have limited access year-round to STEM education. Our STEM Centers are fully equipped with the latest technology, educational STEM products, and curriculum to address educational gaps in service for at-risk youth in underserved communities throughout the U.S. We provide training and resources for teachers/mentors to implement a fun and engaging STEM program throughout the year that encourages teamwork, critical thinking, exploration, and an interest in STEM career pathways.
