Here at the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, we are always on the lookout for creative ways to talk to kids about making positive choices. Our friends at the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) have launched a video challenge to get youth talking about how they can rise above the influence of drugs and alcohol. This is fantastic idea and we wanted to share it with our partners around the country as a fun way to engage kids and start the dialogue on how they can avoid harmful substances and choose to be healthy.
Through their “Above the Influence” campaign, ONDCP calls on teens to share their ideas for the next “Above the Influence” commercial. The "Made by Me" challenge allows teens to submit 60-second video entries that capture their commercial ideas. Teens may submit entries through July 10, 2013 to the challenge Facebook page. Video submissions will be posted for all teens across the country to vote on their favorite commercial idea. The winning commercial will be produced and will premiere on National "Above the Influence" Day, October 17, 2013.
