Can we count you in for Cal, Sr. Day 2015?

Sep 11, 2015

In case you missed it, read our last blog post to learn how you can participate in our second annual “Cal, Sr. Day” on September 29, 2015.

We’re getting very excited for September 29th, which will be Cal, Sr. Day 2015, as well as the day when we open our 50th Youth Development Park in Chicago, IL!  We have already heard from many of you about your plans to celebrate Cal, Sr. Day in your communities: a baseball skills clinic for youth with special needs, neighborhood clean-ups, Quickball tournaments, a Random Acts of Kindness Day with youth planning their own acts of service, and more.  Keep them coming!

While you’re preparing for the event, we also want to make sure everybody else knows about your Cal, Sr. Day celebrations and the great work you are doing.  Let’s work together to highlight your organization’s “Cal, Sr. Day” celebration:

  1. Tell us about your event – Contact your CRSF program manager or e-mail us.
  2. Send out a press release – Use the template in the “Cal, Sr. Day Press Kit” on the Materials page under Coaching & Mentoring.
  3. Use the hashtag #CalSrDay when sharing event photos and videos on social media – Suggested posts and more info available in the “Cal, Sr. Day Press Kit.”

Together on September 29th, we can light up communities and newsfeeds across the country with positive events as we celebrate an uncommon coach’s legacy with our kids.

Thank you for helping us honor Cal Ripken, Sr.—both on September 29th and through the work you do for kids every day!
