Tuesdays with Travis: Atlanta Quickball Tournament

Mar 19, 2013

This past Saturday, March 16th, Chris (@Chris_CRSF) and I (@Travis_CRSF) facilitated a Quickball Tournament located at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta’s Warren Unit. We had teams from both the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta as well as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County attend.

It was a fun-filled day that included Quickball, lunch for everyone, and dance-off’s (thanks to some great beats from the DJ). The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation would like to congratulate “Team All-Stars” (in green) from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County on their victory. They squeaked it out in their final game to win the tournament by six points!

Impromptu dance-off's are a great way to make it fun and keep kids moving!

This event actually sparked an idea between the clubs, and they are now going to try to make inter-club play a regular thing. This is something that you can do in your community, too.

Have you started a league or tournament with other organizations around you? If so, please share your experiences with us! Any advice for others who may wish to do the same?
