150 Youth Join Ripken Foundation and LAPD for Badges for Baseball Clinic

Nov 28, 2022

Over 150 youth from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Baseball Foundation joined the Ripken Foundation for an exciting day of baseball at the David M. Gonzalez Rec Center. Youth were able to participate in baseball/softball stations led by mentors from the LAPD, working on their infield, outfield, hitting, and throwing skills. They also got to enjoy a friendly game of baseball to try out their newly improved skills. Hunter Greene, pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds, donated cleats for the kids to use as well.

The Ripken Foundation Badges for Baseball program was created so vulnerable youth and law enforcement could join forces to play and learn — building positive connections in the process. To learn more about our Badges for Baseball program, click here
