As the fiscal agent for the Feed Anne Arundel initiative, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation was excited to hear that Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman has committed $1 million to support Feed Anne Arundel. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Feed Anne Arundel helps support local restaurants distribute much needed meals to people and families in need. Monica Alvarado, founder of Feed Anne Arundel reflected, “This $1 million commitment from County Executive Pittman will help our restaurants, caterers, and Bed & Breakfasts continue to serve the community, while also keeping the entire supply chain – employees, vendors, farmers, watermen, delivery drivers, warehouse staff ̶ working, too.” The Ripken Foundation continues to help our neighbors in need through fiscal sponsorships of two local food initiatives: Feed Anne Arundel County and Feed Howard County.
