Boys & Girls Club of DeWitt County Receive At-Home STEM Kits

Jun 15, 2020

The Boys & Girls Club of DeWitt county in Cuero, TX recently received Ripken At-Home STEM Kits thanks to our partners, Devon Energy. Though at this time, our youth are unable to explore STEM learning inside our 64 Ripken STEM Centers, we are working with our program partners all across the country to keep our little STEM learners engaged at home. Our STEM Kits contain a variety of STEM learning products designed to teach basic circuitry and coding skills, among many other introductory STEM concepts. Devon Energy has already had an active hand in helping the Foundation establish 14 Ripken STEM Centers. “Our relationship with Devon is bringing positive experiences and new learning opportunities to young people in DeWitt County,” said Steve Salem, Ripken Foundation President & CEO. “We’re glad to continue to provide a way for kids to spark their creativity.”

Receiving Ripken At-Home STEM Kits gives youth of DeWitt county a taste of more to come. The Foundation has future plans to partner with Devon Energy to establish a Ripken STEM Center in DeWitt county accessible to children year-round after the COVID-19 pandemic.
