Since 2013, we’ve partnered with UnitedHealthcare for the Team8 Tour to give their employees the opportunity to build, renovate, beautify, and bring joy to underserved communities across the U.S. The goal of the Team8 Tour is to create clean, safe places where young people can learn about fitness activities, healthy living, and positive lifestyles. In 2019, the Team8 Tour stopped in 10 cities -- Baltimore, MD; Pittsburgh, PA; Milwaukee, WI; Los Angeles, CA; Richmond, VA; Concord, NC; Denver, CO; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Las Vegas, NV -- completing a variety of service projects, such as, renovating program partner facilities, planting community gardens, preparing and distributing healthy meals, participating in fitness and nutrition training, assembling sports equipment, coaching sports clinic events, and organizing food pantries. The efforts of the 2019 Team8 Tour by over 700 UnitedHealthcare volunteers and Ripken Foundation Staff impacted over 15,000 kids nationwide. We cannot wait for the 2020 Team8 Tour to begin where we will continue to help deserving communities become more healthful and positive through this great partnership.
